How do you use Self Hypnosis?
By Brad Greentree | February 11, 2009
Self Hypnosis can be a very useful form dealing with everything from nail biting to anxiety. It’s a process of taking yourself into a hypnotic state and arranging your unconscious mind to focus on what you want. Whether it be maintaining calmness during your working day to reduce stress or creating more energy, self hypnosis will give you a head start in maintaining direction towards what you want.
So how do you hypnotise yourself and use Self Hypnosis? There are a number of ways to take yourself into hypnosis. It is best that you learn how to go into hypnosis with someone leading you first. After you have learnt and know the feeling and the state, it is easier to go back to that state.
To take yourself into a hypnotic state requires some focus. One way of taking yourself into a hypnotic state is to do the following:
Make yourself comfortable in a sitting chair, lift your right arm up above shoulder level. Say to yourself on the count of three I will drop my arm to my lap, the moment it hits my lap I will go into a relaxed state. After that focus on your breath and with each breath allow yourself to relax twice as deep with each breath out. Do this for about 5min. It’s best to set an alarm so that when it goes off you know you are in self hypnosis. I would suggest it is a soft alarm! At this point you can visualise the outcome of what you want to achieve and say out loud what it is that you want. Remember to use positive language making sure the end picture is what you want.
